Finding the Arthropod Museum
The Arthropod Museum is located in Room 314 of the Agriculture Building (AGRI on the university parking map), near the intersection of Maple Street and Oakland Avenue on the University of Arkansas campus. It is easily reached by proceeding east for approximately ¾ of a mile on US Highway 62 (West 6th Street) from Exit 62 of Interstate 49 (formerly I-540) (US Highway 71). Turn left onto Razorback Road (Arkansas Route 112), where you will see a large sign indicating the entrance to the University of Arkansas campus, and proceed north, past Razorback Stadium. Turn right onto Maple Street.
Convenient parking is available near the Entomology Department in the eastern portion of Lot 9, just north of Agriculture Annex (AGRX on the university parking map). Call the Department Office (575-2451) in advance to reserve the Department parking spot.
If you wish to park in the parking garage of the Stadium Drive Parking Garage (STPG on the university parking map), take the first right off Maple Street and proceed south on Stadium Drive. Watch for signs indicating visitor parking. After parking your vehicle, take the stairs or elevator to the top of the building, and walk northwest, across the square between Arkansas Union (ARKU) and Mullins Library (MULN), past the School of Human Environmental Sciences (HOEC), to the Agriculture Building (AGRI). If you wish to park in the Garland Avenue Parking Garage, take the first left off Maple Street and proceed north to Cleveland Street. Turn right onto Cleveland and then right again into the Garage. Walk south to Maple Street and then east to AGRI near the end of Oakland Avenue. There is an hourly cost for parking in the garages. Bring plenty of loose change!
If you are coming for only a brief visit, you can park for 90 minutes in the Visitor Lot (Lot 26) between the Administration Building (ADMN) and Silas Hunt Hall (HUNT) on Maple Street, just past Stadium Drive. Bring plenty of quarters!
If you wish to drop off passengers at the Agriculture Building, proceed along Maple Street, through that intersection with Garland Avenue, when the signal permits, pass by the Leflar Law Center (LAWC) on the right, and then turn right before reaching the Rosen Alternative Pest Control Center (ROSE) and its attached greenhouses. Proceed around the back of the greenhouses to the northwest corner of the Agriculture Building. Passengers can be dropped off here.
Long-term visitor parking is not permitted in the vicinity of the Agriculture Building. However, the following options are available:
On-street parking might be available on streets to the north of the Agriculture Building (Douglas Street, Lindell Avenue, Oakland Avenue, Storer Avenue, etc.)
Visitors can obtain temporary visitor parking permits at the Transit and Parking Department (Administrative Services Building – ADSB) as they enter the campus from Razorback Road. The temporary permits allow you to park on campus in specified lots.
