GENERAL
AREAS OF INTEREST:
SPECIFIC
AREAS OF RESEARCH:
- Deployment
of a unique treatment threshold in cotton which incorporates
the action of beneficial insects (PDF)
- Evaluation
of the impact of generalist predators in selected
row-crop systems, particularly cotton and wheat.
- Evaluate
the impact of newer cotton insecticides on beneficial
insects and to develop strategies for their effective
use while minimizing their disruption of natural enemy
populations.
- Modification
of treatment thresholds in wheat to minimize unnecessary
inputs while maintaining yield potential. Thresholds
have been modified for control the aphid vectors of
barley yellow dwarf virus and armyworm.
- Implementation
of a biological control program for spotted knapweed
in Arkansas. Current project is an evaluation of Urophora
quadrifasciata, an exotic natural enemy already
present in Arkansas.
