William J. and Eloise F. Baerg Travel Award
The William J. and Eloise Baerg Travel Award provides funds at least $250 to assist a departmental student(s) in attending and participating (oral or poster presentation) in professional society meetings, e.g. International Congress of Entomology, Entomological Society of America (national or branch meetings), Invertebrate Pathological Society (international and national), International Society of Chemical Ecology, etc. This monetary award may be used to cover expenses accrued while attending said meeting. Selection criteria for the William J. and Eloise Baerg Travel Award are as follows:
1. Students applying for the award must show evidence of submission of a presentation request form to the appropriate meeting program chair;
2. Students applying for the award must present their paper or poster to the department prior to attending the professional meeting. Papers and posters will be critiqued by the Awards, Scholarship and Fellowship Committee and other faculty using ESA evaluation forms and guidelines for preparing the paper or poster. The Committee will recommend to the faculty a recipient of the award;
3. Depending upon student participation and quality of student presentation, the Baerg Travel Award may or may not be granted annually.
