Lloyd & Ruby Warren Scholarship
The Scholarship ($750.00) is granted annually to an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in the Department of Entomology. The Scholarship is presented in honor of Dr. Lloyd O. and Mrs. Ruby P. Warren. Dr. Warren is professor emeritus in the Department and former Director of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station. The application and selection process for the Lloyd O. and Ruby P. Warren Scholarship is as follows:
1. A call for applications will be issued by the Awards, Scholarships and Fellowships Committee - June 1.
2. The deadline for submission of applications is July 15. 3. Eligibility requirements for the Scholarship are:
a. Undergraduate students must be U. S. citizens and must have completed 24 credit hours in a degree program with a minor in Entomology or Pest Management in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life sciences with a minimum GPA of 2.75;
b. Graduate students must be U. S. citizens and must have completed a minimum of 12 graduate credit hours with a GPA or 3.25 or better.
3. Applications should include: a. a letter summarizing academic background, research (if a graduate student) and interest in entomology;
b. résumé (1 to 2 pages);
c. a copy of undergraduate and/or graduate transcripts;
d. two letters of support from faculty or staff.
4. The Committee will review the applications and prepare a recommendation for submission to the departmental faculty. The faculty will make the final selection.
5. The recipient of the scholarship will be announced at the annual fall student meeting. The scholarship payment will be made during the fall semester.
