Preference to students with expressed interest in pest management or related areas. Financial need will also be a factor. A full- time student (12 credit hours) who must earn a 2.5 GPA during the first semester in order to receive the second semester payment. Failing to do so, the recipient is still eligible for the payment in the third semester if he/she improves the cumulative GPA to 2.50 or better after the second semester. An annual award that is not renewable. |

Recipient must be United States resident with a preference to Arkansas residents. This Scholarship can be granted annually to an undergraduate student in Entomology (major or minor). Undergraduates must be full-time students that have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food & Life Sciences with a minimum GPA of 2.75. It is desired that funds awarded to a recipient/s shall be for all yearly tuition costs to be divided over the fall and spring semesters. Graduate students must have completed at least 12 graduate hours with a GPA of 3.25 or better. The Scholarship is presented in honor of Dr. Lloyd O. and Mrs. Ruby P. Warren. Dr. Warren is professor emeritus in the Department of Entomology and former Director of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station. |

Kirby L. Hays Award
Awarded annually to the outstanding M.S. student in the Southeastern Branch, ESA.
Outstanding Poster Award
Student poster presentation, Annual Southeastern Branch meeting, ESA (M.S. or Ph.D.).
Robert T. Gast Award
Student paper competition, annual Southeastern Branch Meeting, ESA
John Henry Comstock Award
Presented annually to the outstanding student in each branch of the ESA. All ESA award packages are assembled by the Departmental Awards, Scholarships, Fellowships Committee. Interested students should contact the chair of the Committee to obtain eligibility requirements and submission deadlines.
The Entomological Society of America
The Entomological Society of America has numerous awards available to graduate students that are described at the website (http://www.entsoc.org/awards/index.htm). All ESA award packages are assembled by the Departmental Awards, Scholarships, Fellowships Committee. Thanks to the support of our generous scholarship donors, Bumpers College was able to provide approximately $730,000 to more than 370 students last year to help support their dreams and professional aspirations.
Scholarship offers for 2013-2014 are currently being sent throughout the month of May. Incoming freshmen and transfer students will receive offers via the U.S. postal service. Current UA will receive offers via uark email.
Due to the number of applicants and the reallocation of unclaimed scholarships, Bumpers College does not send nonaward letters.
ALL students are encouraged to check their Univesity of Arkansas email accounts weekly throughout the summer for important information from Bumpers College and the University of Arkansas.
